    Hello Scout,

    I’m so interested to buy that Canon DSLR 450D. The problem is I don’t have the full amount yet to get one. My question is do the shops there particularly Henry’s accept Credit Cards? I also wonder if they can be paid thru installment? Please advise. Thank you.

  2. Scout on February 11th, 2009 4:36 am

    Hi Michael. Most shops in Hidalgo accept credit cards, however they charge a bit more (around 6% of the listed price). You can call them at any of their numbers listed here for other inquiries, including availability:

  3. joro on February 15th, 2009 9:29 pm

    is there an update on the prices of the canon gears?

  4. Scout on February 16th, 2009 8:54 pm

    None since I last checked today, but maybe they just haven’t updated their website. Better to call them if you want the latest prices.

    hello,

    do camera shops in hidalgo accept credit card 0% installment terms for 12 months? im very interested with the canon 450d and im just starting out with photography. im from cebu so theres no chance for me to go to the stores. please help. thanks

  6. Scout on March 17th, 2009 8:33 pm

    hi carl. from what i know, they tend to charge more for credit card installments. however, it’s always better to ask them yourself. Avenue Photo does delivery nationwide, so maybe you could ask them thru email:

    info@avphotoinc.com / avenue98@info.com.ph

    their numbers are also listed in the link above.

  8. kingz on May 14th, 2009 2:07 pm

    scout, gud day..

    any idea of the latest price of canon 1000d.
    pls.

    thnx

  9. Scout on May 14th, 2009 6:56 pm

    @kingz: it’s roughly the same. if you want to get it cheaper, go to hidalgo and haggle with the sales lady. they are usually very generous, anyway.

    pls. advise me about the slr and dslr cameras. my son is taking vizcom at u.p. and he says he’ll need the two kinds of camera. are the nikon d40 and canon eos 40d dslr cameras? which would be the slr ones? i just want to have an idea howmuch i have to loan for these. thanks.

  11. Scout on May 28th, 2009 6:01 pm

    Belle,

    Yes, they are both DSLR cameras. The cheapest go for 22K up to hundreds of thousands. It’s best to buy in Hidalgo Street in Quiapo where many camera shops are located and give great deals.

    Please refer to my post below where I listed their numbers. Call them to inquire about the latest prices or go there yourself.

    You can also compare features and prices by going to Amazon.com.

  17. jp on July 17th, 2009 12:58 am

    Does somebody know how much is Canon 500D?

  18. Jon Limjap on July 19th, 2009 4:28 pm

    Dx,

    Re 12 month installment:

    Most shops in Hidalgo only give installment plans in these scheme:

    1. Pay 50% down payment
    2. 50% balance will be split into 3, 6, or 12 months, depending on total amount.
    3. Depending on your deal, there may or may not be a 6% markup on your purchase — they sometimes do this on straight 1-time credit card payments.

    To be able to avail of a real 12 months zero interest scheme, I had to get my gear from mall stores, which are generally more expensive. The Canon EOS 450D goes for 44,500; the Canon EOS 500D goes for 52,950 (48K in Hidalgo IIRC).

    In fact the 500D isn’t really being offered for 12 months; I found only one store doing that and they added PHP500 or PHP53450 to allow for the 12 months payment.

    Gud Day…

    I need URGENT HELP please! I’m confused what to get. A nikon D60 or a Canon 1000D? I would really appreciate any opinions. thank you very much :D

  31. Pinggoy on November 6th, 2009 12:27 am

    I’d get a 1000D…coz I have one…hehe :D
    seriously…
    Warranty wise…Canon have their own service center here…which is easy for us if our cameras gets in trouble…compared to Nikon that has Columbia coverage…ioorder pa nila ung parts..so more ang time na nakatengga ang camera sa service center..

    Spec wise…

    Both have IS lenses (VR sa nikon)
    10megs of reso
    pero ung GUI nung Canon is easier to navigate…
    (dko lang alam ah)

    Color Wise
    Nikon…hands down…

    hehehe hope this can help.

    Hi guys I need help on buying a Canon EOS 500D, do you by somehow know how much it cost in these following shops:

    Mayer’s
    Henry’s

    I’m buying a 500D kit it either has a standard EF-S 18-55mm IS or EF-S 18-200mm f/3.5-6 IS Lens, and I want to know the price of the EF 75-300mm f/4.5-6 III USM Lens, Thanks.

  40. zkey on December 2nd, 2009 1:44 pm

    @Lars 450d ang kunin mo kung kaya naman ng budget. Para sa akin medyo kulang ang 1000d compare sa 450d. Sa mga nabasa kong reviews dati about sa 2 model na yan eh talagang lamang na lamang ang 450d.

  50. Rehkow on December 30th, 2009 1:13 am

    just got my 500D “Kani” last Dec 9. most of the shops in hidalgo are out of stock at 42k. got mine for 46k at a small shop hidden along hidalgo because i paid part cash to make the price lower. i suggest you do the same thing since BPI and BDO are just a block away. mall prices are usually at 49-52k, @GH its also 46k from Canon Shop itself. Kani is definitely a great buy at 920 dots, people looking thru the LCD will be amazed at your shots, feeling “beautiful” at all shots. as one suggested, there arent any bad shots, only awkward ones using 500D. :) if you’re on a budget, go get d3000 or d5000 just make sure its not the one to be recalled eventually. or go with 450 since lots of users mentioned that is almost the same, minus some MP and HD Video. from my experience, i havent used the video to much as it occupies too much space, and an additional memory card costs a lot, batt life will last a day if you would use it in a very “normal” way. you also have to be familiar with photography and how to do some magic, because 500D is so sharp that almost all details will be captured, even the wrinkles, eyebags, yellow teeth, cracks etc. which my mom is annoyed at because it shows their flaws when using the flash. Overall, im extremely happy with Kani and bought this to last me for at least 5 years. other lower end models will do very well but will only last a couple of years..

  51. Rehkow on December 30th, 2009 1:17 am

    btw, almost all shops in hidalgo, of course those who accepts CC do offer 6-12 mos installment. i would certainly suggest that you go with 6 mos after paying half the price or part of it. by the time you are done paying for the cam, there are lots of lenses that have been released that you cannot buy since you are focused on the installment.:)

  52. earvin on January 5th, 2010 2:57 pm

    hi. sayang i bought my canon eos 500d sa malls by 48k. 42k lang pla sa hidalgo. anyway, I only have kit lens of 18mm-55mm. may available pa kaya silang filters for this one?

    and tips naman jan if ano next na magandang lens? ung hndi sana pricey. :) thanks!

  53. patrickmong on January 16th, 2010 5:58 pm

    hello po… cno pa po my alam na store n my available na canon 450d? that ranges around 30-34k. sobrang out of stock kasi sa hidalgo :) tnx po..

  54. Rehkow on January 18th, 2010 2:29 pm

    @ Patrick, Go to GH Canon, almost the same price there. may nikon shop din dun same floor with canon.

    @earvin, ill be getting the sigma 18-250 (very cheap, from a friend 20k only, 28.5 at JT, none DAW in Hidalgo when i called)since i want an all in 1/all around lens to use without having to change lenses. but with most of the reviews, if you are really into photography and is really sensitive with colors, edges etc then an all in 1 lens is not suitable for u as the quality suffers. if for hobby like me, id go for that instead of the tamron 18-270 since i read it has weak autofocus and is bad in dark areas. canon 18-200 is quite expensive but most suggest to buy it, dont know if its for promotional purposes. canon 18-200 has IS only, sigma has OS and HSM same with Tamron IS & VC. not that sure but i think sigma is also the latest one last march 09, unlike the rest 2008. hehehe!

  55. Rehkow on January 18th, 2010 2:32 pm

    i got my filter in hidalgo rin a bit pricey ung shop but konti customers, hindi magulo unlike the others hahaha! parang nag punta ka lang din sa GH Canon if dun ka bibili.

    500D hands down. the only edge D5000 has is the lcd that can be used for angle shots. but the quality is only 230k dots compared to 500D920 dots.

    hi,

    am planning to buy canon 7d kit in hidalgo instead in state… does anyone knows whats the latest price of this item on the stores at hidalgo?

    thanks.

  78. Rehkow on March 4th, 2010 8:40 pm

    @anjoit

    Canon products have this promotional warranty unlike Nikon ou have to add more cash to get the warranty. Its safe to buy in quiapo just make sure the store is credible enough not the stalls in the streets.

    @tonying

    Wow, how i wish i can afford 7D hahaha i dont think it has changed that much. Nikon products are cheaper i think

  79. anjoit on March 4th, 2010 10:06 pm

    @Rehkow

    thanks a lot, so meaning po yung price is my additional for warranty,,

    how much po yung canon 1000d or nikon d3000 nila un updated price? thanks again, big help..

  80. Rehkow on March 5th, 2010 9:21 pm

    @anjoit

    Yep, you can get it with or without the warranty if Nikon kunin mo. they call it columbian or columbia warranty, have no idea ano un haha! Do take note that Nikon doesnt have their own shop here, maybe accredited ones only. im assuming theyd have to send your broken cam abroad to get it fixed.

    some1 told me that Nikon outlasts Canon through the years therefore a service center is just necessary for canon if thats the case.

    not sure with the current price list, but do get d3000 mas bago at ok un in my opinion since its almost the same as 1kD

  81. anjoit on March 5th, 2010 10:32 pm

    @Rehkow

    thanks a lot sir, so higher price with warranty’s right?

    check out the nikon page ull see two different prices for D90, one with the warranty.

    live view is nice, one problem, slow autofocus using that mode even with my 500D. but its all good, still nice. go with the new one since every year something comes out. haha!
