Nikon D40 camera at Php 22K in Hidalgo

It’s getting harder to look for what’s known as the cheapest DSLR in the market today, the Nikon D40. The camera was introduced in November 2006 as the company’s entry-level model and quickly gained popularity due to its price and picture quality. Back then, it retailed between 24K-30K locally, but now one can be had brand new in the low 20s - that is, if you can find it.
Recently, a friend called Hidalgo shops to ask for price quotes, but the model was out of stock on most. The only one who had it in their store was Avenue Photo, and they were selling it for 22K (body and kit lens). Not a bad price, as some point-and-shoot cameras go even higher than this. The Nikon D40 is also much cheaper than Canon’s new entry-level model, the 1000D, which is going for 28K. Key features of the D40 include a 6MP CCD sensor, 2.5″ LCD, SDHC-support, and a range of ISO 200-3200.
My tip is “if you can find it, buy it.”

bought this cam for my sister 3weeks ago. it was only at 19500 at mayers with free 4gb sdhc, cam bag and a uv filter.
when i bought a lens pen, they even gave me a P50 discount.
good to know that there’s a DSLR below the 20K level nowadays. the freebies aren’t half bad either. nice.
are you sure that you got a great deal with a DSLR at 19500 from Mayers? are you sure it’s brand new? Might have been a backup camera of a pro who doesn’t need it anymore.

i got my d40 from a online store they are selling it for 19500 this is certified brandnew and i got my brothers d40 in mayers for the same price certified brandnew most likely you havent been to hidalgo alot or you are not a season visitor of hidalgo to say such a thing mayer is well known to do such a thing
Mostly 22,000 ang presyo na nakikita ko. Sulit na po ba yan? May lens na rin sya na 18-55mm.
it’s been 3 month since the last comments and inquiries, i’m just curious (but planning to buy a DSLR) and interested about the prices of NIKON DSLR now…. Is the price still the same and models are available? like the D40 and D60? I agree with the opinion of the guy who question the quality of goods you buy with a bit too low than the average selling price there in Hidalgo, how can I be sure it is not a second-hand unit?? thanks.

Instead of calling all the store phone number of would-be NIKON DSLR dealer, hindi ba kalabisan kung mag-request ako ng mga pricelist ng Canon and Nikon Dslr camera.. thanks.

‘got a nikon d40 from hidalgo december last year. php21500 ata kuha ko. but now dahil medyo gipit, sangla ko siguro muna. ayoko ibenta hangga’t maaari kasi talagang maganda quality ng cam tsaka siyempre me sentimental value na. first dslr ko kaya to.
nways, don’t worry peepz re: 2nd hand cams sa hidalgo. sinasabi naman nila sa customers kung brand-new or 2nd-hand yung display nila.

you can get as much as you want sa mga canon at nikon without spending more para sa sony alpha…there are professionals na naka sony pero i believe backup cams lang nila un..

always remember its not the price or model of the camera that makes you good.. its your eye and talent and the camera is only a tool to capture the image. Dont be a gear head! Be a photographer!
